Contemplative Prayer Weekend with Father Bill Sheehan

“INTRODUCTION TO CONTEMPLATIVE PRAYER: CENTERING PRAYER AND WELCOMING PRAYER;” FRIDAY JAN 19, 5:30 – 8:30 PM AND SATURDAY JAN 20, 8:30 AM – 12 NOON: These methods of Christian prayer and meditation are contemporary forms that have been developed from ancient Christian traditions by Benedictine monk Fr. Thomas Keating in order to “experience God’s presence within us, closer than breathing, close than thinking, closer than consciousness itself.” Fr. Bill Sheehan OMI, an experienced and beloved retreat director, will lead this retreat at St. Michael’s. He has been involved with Contemplative Outreach since 1983 and continues to serve the Centering Prayer community. Fr. Sheehan also served as a priest at St. Michael Catholic Church in Brattleboro in the late 1970s. Good-will donations are welcome; simple supper and light breakfast will be provided.
