MARCH 23-24 LENTEN CONTEMPLATIVE RETREAT AT HALLELUJAH FARM:
This retreat is an opportunity to practice silent prayer in community. Practitioners of all
levels are welcome; there will be a brief time of instruction for anyone new to Centering
Prayer. The primary practice during the retreat will be group Centering Prayer, but we
will also practice “lectio divina” or sacred reading (the ancient monastic practice of
listening to the Spirit speak to our hearts through Scripture), “lectio natura” (an outdoor
practice to connect to God through nature), and Conscious Practical Work (a practice of
presence and attention). The retreat will be mostly in silence except for times of
instruction and reflection on the prayer practices and at the closing circle.
