SUMMARY:Palm Sunday
DESCRIPTION:Palm Sunday\, April 13\, 8 & 10:15am.  This special liturgy begins with a procession of the congregation (with Sophia the Donkey and some spirited music) and the blessing of the palms\, commemorating the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. The Gospel reading is the complete story of the Passion.  The service underlines the contrast between the crowd’s joyous greeting of their king and then their condemnation of him—the contrast between shouts of “Alleluia” and “Crucify him!”   We gather in the Undercroft (on the lower level) at 10 am to get ready for the parade.   All are welcome!

SUMMARY:Maundy Thursday
DESCRIPTION:Maundy Thursday\, April 17\, 7pm –  The word Maundy is derived from the Latin word\, madatum (commandment)\, and refers to Jesus giving the “new commandment” to “love one another as I have loved you” (John 13:34) to his disciples at the Last Supper.   The Maundy Thursday service commemorates the Last supper and often focuses on two things Jesus did at the Last Supper: washing of the disciples’ feed and the institution of the sacrament of Holy Communion.   The service ends in complete silence with the stripping of the altar\, in recognition of Jesus prayers in the Garden of Gethsemane and the despair and death to come.  All are welcome.

SUMMARY:Education for all ages
DESCRIPTION:The Adult Forum meets every Sunday morning from 9:00-10:00 am September through May. The Forum is an opportunity for adults to deepen their understanding of their faith and their relationships with one another. The Forum is open to everyone\, whether you come once a month\, once a year\, or every week.  Please check “announcements” to find current offerings. \nWorkshop Rotation\, a Christian formation program for children and youth ages 3-10 years old\, is offered from 9:00-10:00 am every Sunday. We explore one biblical story for each four-week cycle\, using a different learning approach each week (art\, drama\, video\, story\, science\, dance\, music\, computer\, or cooking). Our hope is to provide a time of active engagement with the stories of the Bible and with one another. \nYouth Forum (for kids 11 years old and up) is held every Sunday from 9:00-10:00 am. The Youth Forum provides an opportunity for youth to learn more about faith through service\, study\, conversation\, and exploration.
