Lex orandi, lex credendi – As we pray, so we believe
Prayer is so central to our Anglican/Episcopal faith that we do not have a special denominational statement that describes our beliefs, as many other Christian denominations do. If you want to know what we believe, listen to our prayers. In other words, as we pray, so we believe.
While the way that we worship and pray grows out of the Book of Common Prayer, we recognize that the importance of prayer in our life together is also to be found in other prayer practices – contemplative prayers, prayers with icons, healing and intercessory prayers – which are all important at St. Michael’s.
